‘Forest Greens’ Tablescape

Garden Designer Katie Oglesby, and Lifestyle Blogger Mary Alice Myers teamed up to create garden-inspired tablescapes for fall. This blog is one of five we are featuring to inspire all of you to elevate your table and bring the garden and outdoor elements in for a cozy, organic feel at your table that impresses your guests and sets the tone for your fall gathering.

Embrace the timeless charm of plaid, a pattern that beautifully captures the essence of fall, bringing warmth and rustic elegance to your garden-inspired tablescapes. The plaid tablecloth serves as a perfect warm backdrop for bringing in those natural textures and bounty from your autumn gardens.

So we started with the plaid tablecloth, which is a Ralph Lauren fabric remnant. Then the place settings started with burlap chargers (Hobby Lobby), the added melamine plates in a natural wood-style look (Paper Dolls Home Furnishings). Finally we topped the place settings with the beautiful Forest Walk dinner and salad plates  (Juliska). Burlap look bread & butter plates, wood votive candles, and a footed wood bowl (Fontana Home) helped with the texture aspect of our look. The final touch was a set of amber wine glasses (Amazon) to add a formal element to the table.

Then, it was time for Katie to work her garden magic! The colorful mix of orange, purple, and white carrots was one of my favorite things on this table. There was such a variety of sizes and colors, so it was as easy as just cutting the stems and laying the carrots in the footed bowl. Pretty easy for a centerpiece, huh?

We stuck with those autumn colors and added a bunch of bright orange beets to a white pumpkin tureen. Finally, to round out the veggies, we popped some tomatoes in the pottery salad bowls and sprinkled fresh eucalyptus among the veggies.

Finally, Katie had several large tree trunk serving boards that were actually from a felled tree in their yard! We used one of the boards and added some flower blossoms and a loaf of homemade bread.

Want to be the hostess with the mostest? Here is a pro tip when you host your next garden to table party: have some containers available so your guests can take home some of the amazing fresh vegetables!
