Black & White Garden

Each garden designed and installed is unique to the client and their property. When I came out to this home to scout the location, the sun led me to the front yard. This was the first time I’ve ever designed a front yard garden.

When a property already has an established style like this home, my goal when customizing a garden is to stay in line with the existing aesthetic and then accentuate and highlight specific details throughout my design.

Several aspects of the home inspired me, but one very important detail caught my eye and was the focus of my designs.  The minute I stepped onto this property, I knew the beds had to be black upon observing the black brick herringbone driveway.

For this home, one of those details is the custom arch. This arch is bigger than most arches to match the scale of the home. The arch is a focal point of the garden, and the obelisks balance out the height on each end of the garden.
